GETTING CERTIFIED

NLP and Coaching Certifications

If you complete an NLP Practitioner, Business Practitioner or Master Practitioner training, you will be automatically licensed and certified by Dr. Richard Bandler and the Society of NLP. This entitles you to be a member of the Society of NLP for two years. After that you keep up your certification by simply contacting the Society of NLP and describing how you have been up dating your skills and using NLP over the two years. Certification are included in your course fee. Certification renewal every two years is free.

Our Diploma in Mind Coaching is certified directly by us here at the Irish Institute via The International Association of Mind Coaches (The IAMC) and incorporates our licensed NLP trainings.

What is The Society of NLP? How recognised is it?

The Society of NLP was established in 1979 as the original and official certifying body in the field of NLP by NLP Co-Developers, Richard Bandler and John Grinder.

The Society provides criteria for certification as NLP Practitioner, NLP Business Practitioner, NLP Master Practitioner, NLP Trainer, and Master Trainer of NLP.

Certification according to these criteria entitles the use of the official seal of the Society of NLP.

What is the License Agreement all about?

The license agreement is simply a way of protecting yourself, NLP and Dr Bandler. It stipulates that you will not go out and claim you are an NLP trainer after doing one or two courses. It maintains the integrity of the field and ensures that you will only start representing yourself as a NLP trainer when you are appropriately licensed.

What qualifications have the trainers got?

All trainers are fully licensed Trainers of the Society of NLP. Owen Fitzpatrick and Brian Colbert are the ONLY licensed Master Trainers of NLP in Ireland (highest recognition in the field). Owen Fitzpatrick has a Masters in Applied Psychology. Brian Colbert has a degree in Industrial Relations and is member of the CIPD. All trainers are also qualified Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists.

What can I do after my Practitioner and what does that qualify me to do?

It simply means that you are licensed as someone who can practise NLP with yourself and others. NLP is an educational tool. It is teaching people how to use their brains and language more effectively tomorrow. It is NOT a therapeutic or even a coaching certification. (However, it contains probably the most important set of skills you can use in coaching)

Can I train others in NLP after completing my Practitioner and Master Practitioner?

You cannot train a NLP Practitioner or NLP Master Practitioner. You must complete the NLP Trainers Training with Dr Bandler himself in order to become a Licensed Trainer.

Certification Criteria

LEVEL 1

LICENSED PRACTITIONER OF NLP / LICENSED BUSINESS PRACTITIONER OF NLP

An individual trained to this standard has learned the core skills of NLP.

An NLP Practitioner will able to assist you to break through challenges, build confidence, eliminate phobias, get clarity and move forward in your life.

If you are considering consulting with an NLP Practitioner it is advisable to check for whatever additional skills he or she may have to help you.

LEVEL 2

LICENSED MASTER PRACTITIONER OF NLP

A Master Practitioner of NLP is able to do all that an NLP Practitioner can do but can also cater for the deeper challenges like fear, anxiety, reactive depression, dyslexia, guilt and basically pretty much anything that may be preventing you from being at your best or living life to the full.

A Master Practitioner of NLP does not need additional qualifications to be effective.

LEVEL 3

ACCREDITED LIFE AND BUSINESS COACH

An IINLP Accredited Life and Business Coach has undergone rigorous supervised training and assessment monitored by ourselves here at the IINLP.

Your Coach is a person that consistently demonstrates competence in dealing with all sorts of challenges from the everyday frustrations to the more challenging therapeutic issues.

If you have a challenge or an issue you are in very capable hands.

Note: To ensure that the highest standards are kept and you get the best from your Coach, all IINLP Coaches must meet their annual training requirements. Failure to reach this criteria is represented below:
Failure to do so two years consecutively results in removal of IINLP Coaching Accreditation status.

LEVEL 4

LICENSED TRAINER OF NLP

A licensed Trainer of NLP has all the skills necessary to create powerful and positive changes in both group and one-to-one settings.

LEVEL 5

LICENSED MASTER TRAINER OF NLP

A licensed Master Trainer of NLP is one of a select few that has not only demonstrated ability but has contributed to and continues to contribute to the ongoing development and promotion and accessibility of NLP worldwide.

EXTERNALLY TRAINED AND APPROVED IINLP MEMBERS

As IINLP is an ever-expanding successful organisation it attracts many people to its ranks. Some of those are competent in their field but have not been trained directly by the IINLP. So in the spirit of inclusion, we happily accept them as members provided that they meet our competence assessment criteria.

Membership and status is signified as set out below.
